Aravind Swaminathan is a partner in the Seattle office. Aravind is accomplished trial lawyer, litigator, and former federal prosecutor, with extensive experience in cybersecurity and data breaches, government and internal investigations, and privacy-related matters. Aravind advises clients in proactive assessment and management of internal and external cybersecurity risks, breach incident response planning, and corporate governance responsibilities related to cybersecurity. Aravind has directed dozens of internal data breach investigations and cybersecurity incident response efforts, including incidents with national security implications. He also represents companies and organizations facing cybersecurity and privacy-oriented class action litigation that can often follow a breach. Antony (Tony) Kim is a partner in the Washington, D.C., office. Tony represents clients in investigations before federal and state regulators, and in private actions and counseling engagements across a broad array consumer-facing matters focused on data privacy, data security and breach response. His clients are engaged in diverse industries, such as chemicals, transportation, medical devices, media and newspapers, clothing and fashion, financial services, software and hardware, and a variety of online and mobile platforms. Tony works with in-house legal departments, C-Suites, Boards of Directors and IT teams on proactive corporate cybersecurity preparedness and risk mitigation strategies. He has also directed forensic investigations, cross-border notifications, responses to regulatory enforcement actions, and civil defense strategies in significant cyber-attacks and security breaches involving an array of compromised records, including credit card data and trade secrets, for both behalf of both private and public companies.

Mark Mermelstein is a partner in the Los Angeles office. Mark is a trial lawyer with more than 20 first-chair trials. He splits his time between white collar criminal defense and asset recovery for victims of corporate crimes. Representing corporate crime victims, he focuses on cybercrime including data breach (including customer regulatory notice obligations), IP/trade secrets theft, hacking and counterfeiting. On the criminal defense side, he represents corporations and individuals facing allegations of securities fraud, healthcare fraud, antitrust violations, environmental crimes, money laundering, violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and the False Claims Act, mail/wire fraud, and embezzlement. Kolvin Stone is a partner in the Technology Companies Group in London. Kolvin assists innovative, fast-growing companies and multinational corporations on their commercial transactions on a cross-border basis, providing advice on intellectual property, privacy and consumer protection, and Internet regulation. Kolvin focuses on technology related transactions and legal issues advising at the intersection of technology, intellectual property and data. Christian Schröder serves as head of IP/IT & Data Privacy Practice Group in Germany. Christian has a special focus on data privacy/data protection matters. He advises on a risk-based approach to privacy, on implementing databases and new software applications, in particular, cloud based solutions. Christian also advises on data privacy contracts, internal data privacy policies, binding corporate rules, user agreements on BYOD, whistleblowing schemes, e-discovery, security breaches, and intra-group data sharing on a national and international basis. He also regularly defends companies against unfair access to their know-how by competitors and against unfair poaching of customers and employees.
