On December 9, 2015, the Federal Housing Administration (“FHA”) announced its schedule of loan limits for the 2016 calendar year. The new schedule, effective January 1, 2016, raises loan limits in 188 counties and are a result of changes in housing prices in the respective areas. FHFA Retains Maximum Conforming Loan Limits
On November 22, the FHFA announced that the maximum conforming loan limits for mortgages acquired by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in 2012 will remain at existing levels (which were decreased in October) except in Fairfield County, Connecticut, where the loan limit will increase. FHFA Release.
