Diana Rutowski, an office leader in Orrick’s Silicon Valley Office, is an experienced intellectual property litigator whose practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and counseling, with experience in patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and commercial disputes.
Diana’s clients come from a wide variety of industries including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, agrosciences, clean energy, software, computer hardware, retail services, food and beverage products, and Internet services. She has experience representing clients in take-down campaigns that involve strategically locating trademark infringements online and developing a strategy effectively to enforce our client’s rights, including Zestcash, Soylent, Western Digital, DJI, and others. Whether arguing in court or counseling an emerging technology client on intellectual property issues, Diana brings dedication, problem solving and creativity to her practice.
Monte Cooper is of counsel in Orrick’s Intellectual Property Group, and is based in the Silicon Valley office. In addition to offering more than 20 years of experience with patent, copyright, trade secret and antitrust litigation (including appellate work), Monte also provides IP counseling and licensing advice for both major technology and emerging companies alike. Monte is well known to the IP Bar, and frequently is asked to speak at and chair prestigious international conferences focused on IP issues, including the Sedona Conference, AIPLA, IPO, and the Naples Roundtable.
Monte graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law, where he was both Production Editor and Senior Staff editor for the Colorado Law Review. He earned his undergraduate degrees in Economics and History from Duke University
