Lauren Seaton is an associate in Orrick's Orange County office. Lauren focuses her practice on white collar criminal defense and internal investigations.

She represents companies and individuals in a variety of litigation matters, including white collar criminal defense, intellectual property matters, and general litigation. Prior to joining the White Collar and Securities Litigation Group, Lauren was a member of Orrick's Intellectual Property Group. She currently maintains a substantial trademark prosecution portfolio, counseling clients with the acquisition and protection of their intellectual property rights.

Supreme Court to Decide Whether Covered Class Actions May Be Litigated in State Court

As the beginning of the next US Supreme Court term nears, one case in particular has caught our attention, as the question presented asks whether state courts have jurisdiction over certain securities class actions. The case before the Supreme Court that will hopefully decide the matter is Cyan v. Beaver County Employees Retirement Fund.
