Cracking Down on Patent Abuse – The View From Outside the Beltway

Event Details

  • Date:

Abusive patent claims have been hot topic over the last few years among technology companies, their lawyers and policymakers.  We invite you to join us for a breakfast panel that will focus on a different and largely unexplored dimension of this topic: the efforts that state lawmakers and attorneys general are taking to address patent abuse.

As the prospects for federal legislation dim, efforts to address patent abuse through legislative, regulatory and enforcement responses have moved to the forefront.  Orrick Public Policy Co-Chair and former Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna will moderate a panel of industry experts and lawmakers who will discuss what the states are currently doing and where they are headed in 2015 and beyond.
